Instant Messaging, also known
as Chat, is a way of sending short, simple text messages.
Your phone’s presence settings help you to share your availability
information with friends and family.
The Contact list in your phone shows you when contacts on
the list are online and available to participate in an instant
messaging session.
Before you can begin using instant messaging services, you
may need to do the following:
- Find out from your operator or service
provider if the instant messaging services are available.
- Determine necessary details about
connections from your operator or service provider.
- Adjust settings for connections and
the instant messaging service.
- View and edit your own information.
- Add instant messaging contacts.
This function can be used only if it
is supported by your network operator or service provider.
Only phones that offer compatible instant messaging features
can receive and display instant messages.
