In addition to recording video, you can take still photos with the built-in camera of the Nokia 6230. The camera lens is on the back of the phone, and the phone display works as the viewfinder.

The VGA resolution (640x480 pixels) of the camera lets you take bigger images, and the active TFT display gives a sharper and more accurate viewfinder picture than before.

You can ...

  • ... share the images with your friends with the multimedia messaging service (requires a compatible phone at the receiving end and MMS support from your phone operator).
  • ... transfer images to a compatible PC using Nokia PC Suite.
  • ... transfer images to a compatible phone via Bluetooth or Infrared.
  • ... attach photos to Contacts of your phone.
  • ... set a photo as a wallpaper on your phone.
  • ... edit the photos on a compatible PC with Nokia Image Converter.
  • ... edit the images directly with your Nokia 6230 phone. You can add text, frames or clip art to the photos.
  • ... compose a slide presentation of the photos.

The maximum resolution of the images is 640x480, which is the standard VGA resolution. The file format of the images is JPEG.
