Connecting your phone to your PC
To connect your phone to your PC Suite via infrared:
(These instructions assume that you have already installed PC Suite for Nokia 3650):
- Activate the infrared on your Nokia 3650. To do this, go to the main menu on your phone, open the Connectivity folder. Select Infrared and then press the scroll key. You should see the message Infrared activated and see the infrared symbol flashing in the upper right-hand corner of the display.
- Place the infrared port of your phone opposite the infrared port of your PC
- The PC suite connection icon on your task bar (
) should change colour ( ) to indicate that you have an active PC suite connection. If it does not, double click the PC suite connection icon and make sure that the check box next Infrared is checked.
- You are now ready to use PC Suite for Nokia 3650.
To connect your phone to your PC Suite via Bluetooth using a Socket Bluetooth card or a Nokia DTL-4 card:
(These instructions assume that you have already installed the software for Socket Bluetooth card or DTL-4 and PC Suite for Nokia 3650):
- Insert the Socket Bluetooth card or DT-4 into your PC
- Activate the Bluetooth connection on your phone (Menu > Connectivity > Bluetooth > On).
- Open up the Bluetooth Neighbourhood software. (You can find a shortcut to this on your desktop).
- In Bluetooth Neighbourhood, go to Menu > Bluetooth > Device Discovery. Bluetooth Neighbourhood will now start to search for any active Bluetooth devices in range.
- When the Bluetooth Neighbourhood has found your phone, drag the Com port icon (e.g COM port 6) from the left hand side the Window, onto the icon representing your phone. You must use the COM port which has the serial port profile associated with it. To check which COM port this is, go to Control Panel >Bluetooth configuration tool and check which of the Digianswer Virtual COM ports has the a check mark in the serial port profile box.
- By default, you will have to enter a passcode on both your phone and you PC. This passcode is set by you and will be used only for this connection so you don't need to remember it. After you have entered the passcode on both devices, accept the connection.
- The PC suite connection icon on your task bar (
) should change colour ( ) to indicate that you have an active PC suite connection. If it does not, double click the PC suite connection icon and make sure that the check box next to the COM port you used for the connection is checked.
- You are now ready to use PC Suite for Nokia 3650.
