Installing modem options for the Nokia 3650 on your PC

1. From the CD-ROM main menu, click Software for PC and then click Modem Options for the Nokia 3650. Click Install.
2. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Tip: You may also download the modem options from Product Support.

In the Connection Method Selection dialog box, you are prompted to select one or more of the available connection methods:

• Infrared connection (provided that your computer has infrared capabilities)
• Bluetooth connection (provided that a Bluetooth card and the associated software are installed on your PC)

Setting the modem options

1. After you have run the modem setup and rebooted your PC, start the Nokia Modem Options, by going to My Computer>Control Panel>Nokia Modem Options. The Nokia Modem Options user interface should open up.
2. Select the appropriate phone and connection method (Nokia 3650 IrDA/Bluetooth) from the Installed Nokia Modems list. (Only phones that have modem .inf files installed and which support GPRS & HSCSD are shown). If your phone is not visible, click the Refresh button. If you installed both Bluetooth and infrared connection methods, you must make the Nokia Modem option settings for both connection methods
3. Next, under Data connection, make the GSM data connection settings, if you are going to use GSM data.
   • Under Speed, select 9.6 kbits/s if the service provider you are using does not support high-speed data (HSCSD) or you have problems making a data call. Use speeds of 14.4 kbits/s or higher, only if you are sure that the service provider you are using supports high-speed data (HSCSD). If in doubt, check with your service provider.
   • Select the Connection method. Check whether your service provider supports Modem, ISDN V.110 or ISDN V.120
4. If you are going to use a GPRS connection, enter the GPRS Access Point name. You should receive this information from your service provider
5. When you are ready, click OK

If you installed both connection methods (Bluetooth and Infrared) you should now return to step 3 of the instructions and make the settings for the second connection method
