To synchronize your calendar and phone book information for the first time, you must first set up the synchronization task.
To do this:
- Connect your Nokia 3200 phone to your compatible PC via infrared or cable and open the Nokia PC Sync application.
- Click the Properties button.
- Select the PC application you want to synchronize with (the one that you use for your calendar and contacts information) and click Next.
- Select the data you wish to synchronize (Calendar, Contacts). Then click Next.
- The next page will depend upon which PC application you selected in step 3. This page asks you to specify where the data your phone will be sychronized with is located on the PC. When you are ready, click Next.
- The next page will set the synchronization range (how far into the past and futures entries are synchronized) for calendar and to-do items. This item will only be available if you choose to synchronize either calendar or to-do items in step 4. When you are ready, click Next.
- The next page will ask you what level of contact detail you wish to synchronize. This item will only be available if you choose to synchronize contacts in step 4. When you are ready, click Next.
- On the final page you can click the Advanced button. This will give you access to the following options:
- Automatic synchronization - whether your phone and PC data are synchronized automatically at a particular time, whenever the phone is connected to the compatible PC, or manually.
- Conflict resolution - Think carefully about whether you want your Nokia 3200 phone to overwrite the PC or vice versa in case of a conflict. You should consider which calendar or contacts application you keep most up to date and select that one as the master.
- SyncML - you can enter you SyncML user name and password.
- When you are ready click Finish. If you checked the Synchronize when I click finish box, synchronization will begin immediately.
- To run the synchronization, click the Synchronize now button in the Nokia PC Sync window.
