Infrared

With the infrared connection, you can connect your phone to another IrDA compatible device, to a compatible PC or other phone, and transfer data. You can use the infrared connection to send pictures, calendar notes and business cards.

To activate the infrared port: Press Menu in standby mode, and select Settings, Connectivity and Infrared.

Do not point the IR (infrared) beam at anyone's eyes or allow it to interfere with other IR devices. This device is a Class 1 Laser product.

Sending and receiving data via IR

  • Ensure that the infrared ports of your phone and the other device are pointing at each other and that there are no obstructions between the devices. The preferable distance between the two devices in an infrared connection is one metre at the most.
  • To receive data, activate the infrared port by accessing this menu. If data transfer is not started within two minutes, the connection is cancelled and has to be started again.
  • To send data from your phone, select the function from which you want to send data over the infrared connection.

Checking the status of the infrared connection

  • When IR symbol is shown continuously, the infrared connection is active and your phone is ready to send or receive data via its infrared port.
  • When IR symbol blinks, your phone is trying to connect to the other device or the connection has been lost.
