Making a connection to a browser service
To open a connection quickly, press and hold
in standby mode.
Over the Air settings for browser
You may receive the service settings as an Over the Air (OTA) message from the network operator or service provider that offers the service you want to use. Go to http://www.nokia.com/phonesettings to learn more.
Receiving a bookmark
When you receive a bookmark as an OTA message, press Options and select View to view the bookmark, Save to add it to the bookmark list, or Discard to discard it.
Downloading a game
Press Menu in standby mode and select Applications and Games. To download a game to the phone, select Game downloads. A list of bookmarks is shown. Select More bookmarks if you want to view the bookmarks available in the Services menu. Select the bookmark of the browser page you want to access. Follow the instructions provided by the service. When downloading a game, it may be saved in the Collection menu instead of the Games menu.
Downloading a Java application
In the Collection menu, select App. downloads. A list of bookmarks is shown. Select More bookmarks if you want to view the bookmarks available in the Services menu. Select the bookmark of the browser page you want to access. Follow the instructions provided by the service. Check the simulation about application downloading in the Using your Phone/Mobile Browsing section.
Remember safety when downloading applications
Only install applications from sources that offer adequate protection against harmful software.
Checking the memory status
To check the amount of memory available for Java applications, select Memory in the Collection menu.
Emptying the cache memory
A cache is a memory location that is used to store data temporarily. If you have tried to access or have accessed confidential information requiring passwords, empty the cache after each use. In the Services menu, select Clear the cache. Or, while browsing, press Options and select Other options and Clear the cache.
