Contact Settings
You can save names and phone numbers (contacts) in the phone’s memory and in the SIM card’s memory. The phone supports SIM cards that can save up to 250 names and phone numbers. The number of names that can be saved depends on the length of the phone numbers and names. Contacts saved in the phone memory use shared memory. Shared memory is used for saved text and multimedia messages, installed Java™ applications, ringing tones and other data, including contacts.
The most important differences between the SIM card’s memory and phone’s memory are space and movability. You can save almost as many contacts as you like in your phone’s memory, however, it’s very easy to move your contacts to another phone if you have saved them in the SIM’s memory.
Press Menu in standby mode and select Contacts and Settings. Select
- Memory in use to select the contact memory you want to use. If you want to search for names and phone numbers in both memories, select Phone and SIM. In this case, the names and numbers will be saved in the phone’s memory.
- Contacts view to select how the names, numbers and images are displayed in the contacts list. For example, select Name and image to view the names with the attached images.
- Memory status to view how much free memory is available in each contact memory, i.e. in the SIM card’s memory or the phone’s memory.
