The predictive text input is based on a built-in dictionary to which you can also add new words.
Setting predictive text input on or off
- When writing text, press Options and select Dictionary.
- Set the predictive text input on or off:
- To set the predictive text input on, select a language in the Dictionary options list.
- To change back to the traditional text input, select Dictionary off.
Write text using predictive text input
- Key in the desired word by pressing each key once for one letter.
- For example, to input ‘Nokia’, press
, , , and .
- If you want to change the word, press
repeatedly until the desired word appears.
- When the displayed word is the one you want, press
and start writing the next word.
Editing words
Use following functions to edit a word you are writing:
- To delete the character, press
. To clear the screen, press and hold this key.
- To switch between upper and lower cases, or between traditional and predictive text input, press
repeatedly.
- Press and hold
to change between upper and lower cases and numbers.
- To get some punctuation marks, press
once and repeatedly.
- To get a list of special characters, press and hold
.
- To insert a number, press and hold the desired number key. To insert several numbers, press and hold
and key in the numbers.
- Press Options to access the Matches, Insert word, Insert number and Insert
symbol functions.

If a "?" is shown after the word that you have written and are trying to change, it means that the word is not in the dictionary. To add the word to the dictionary, press Spell, key in the word using traditional text input and press OK. |
