Compared to calling, sending a message may be quicker, more fun and sometimes a better way to be in contact – for example when you want make a date, send greetings, or in situations when you cannot speak.

The following types of messaging are supported by the Nokia 2300 phone:
  • Use SMS messages to send plain text messages. You can use the traditional text input, indicated with , or predictive text input, indicated with .
  • With picture messages you can send and receive messages that contain pictures.
  • Have a chat session with a friend by sending and receiving instant messages.

Multi-part messages Message templates are preset texts for SMS messages. Templates can save you time. When writing a text, select Use template and select a suitable template, for example: "I am late. I will be there at" and fill in the details.
