SMS Messaging

Text messages are also called SMS messages (Short Message Service). They are a practical and quick way of communicating.

When writing a message, you can insert in it

  • a phone number from your Contacts
  • a smiley
  • a symbol, such as * or £.

To do this, press Options, Insert Options and select the one you need.

In addition to the traditional text input or writing, you can also use the phone's built-in dictionary. This is called Using predictive text input, a tool that you use by pressing each key only once. It may take a little while to get accustomed to it, but once you do, you will notice it is very convenient to use.

You can write and send multi-part messages consisting of several ordinary text messages (Network Service). The number of available characters/the current part number of a multi-part message are shown on the top right of the display, for example 120/2.

Invoicing may be based upon the number of ordinary messages that are needed for any multi-part message.

If you use special (Unicode) characters, such as Cyrillic characters, more parts may be needed for the message than would otherwise be required. Note that predictive text input may use Unicode characters.

What are message templates? Message sent
Message templates are preset texts for SMS messages. With them you can save time. When writing a text, select Use template and select a suitable template, for example: "I am late. I will be there at" and fill in the details. When sending messages via the SMS Network Service, your phone may display the words Message sent. This is an indication that the message has been sent by your phone to the message center number programmed into your phone. This is not an indication that the message has been received at the intended destination. For more details about SMS services, check with your service provider.
